Top 17* Michael Jackson Songs to Listen to in the Car

I was trying to figure out, "Why do I love MJ's music so much?" I know, cray cray, right? I mean, I can give you a shopping list of why I love Michael Jackson in general, but why exactly do I love his music?

I figured it out: his music is catchy, and 95% of the time it has a great beat. And I don't even have to mention his velvet vocals.

This combination makes Michael Jackson's music absolutely perfect for listening to in the car. I ALWAYS find myself listening to MJ in the car; his music is perfect driving music.

So I'm not answering the question of "What are the top 17 Michael Jackson songs?" because no one can do that; everyone has their own opinion and personal taste. But I AM answering the question of "What are the best Michael Jackson songs to listen to in the car?", even though it is also a matter of personal taste.

*17 because not only is it an awkward prime number, but it's roughly the number of songs you can fit on a CD.

I am obsessed with the musical Passion, so I made these banners ages ago after I saw it at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. I couldn't bear to just get rid of them, so I'm reposting them at my new journal.

For many of the posted graphics, I was inspired by the "Team Paris" and "Team Nicole" shirts from when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were fighing. Odd inspiration, I know.

They're not high quality and not witty, but I do what I can.

It's not good when I'm both inspired and obsessed. Because then I make crap.

Author's Note: Although this drabble is pretty much book verse, I was inspired to write this by seeing Wicked the musical and noticing the huge difference between Elphaba's wigs in the first and second act. (Only I would notice, right?) So of course, I had to write the backstory and put my own mild gelphie, bookverse twist on it.

Elphaba was still beautiful.Collapse )

Homework

As the clock struck twelve, Dobby was cleaning the Gryffindor common room. He padded around, picking up forgotten socks and scarves.

Dobby turned his attention to the table in the middle of the room. Amid the candy wrappers was a piece of parchment unlike the others. Just as he was going to dispose of it, he stopped short. Although he couldn’t read, Dobby knew the paper must have been a forgetful student’s homework, as the writing upon it looked tedious and the equations complex. Dobby smiled as he cleared off the surface and set the parchment back on the table.

Depression

As the morning’s bacon sizzled, Dobby heard a loud crash and a moan. Turning his attention from his cooking, he looked behind him to find a startling surprise. There she was, Winky, lying motionless on the floor. Judging by the butterbeer bottle next to her, she had too much to drink again.

Dobby snapped his fingers, and the pilot light under the pan went out. He sighed, and went over to Winky. Dobby knew she was depressed, and he gently scooped up her body. Struggling with the weight, he made his way to the Room of Requirement.

He was depressed.
